For the fabric rosettes
You will need:
Print and plain fabrics
Assortment of buttons
Needle & thread
Saucer and mug [to draw around for your patterns]
How to make:
1. Draw around the saucer and mug to make two different sizes of circles on your fabric, and cut out.
2. Using double thread and using a large running stitch, sew around the edge of the circle on the under side. Make sure the first stitch is secured as when you have sewn the complete circle you need to pull and gather the circle to make the rosette shape. Stitch and secure when pulled.
3. Stitch the smaller rosette on top of the larger one and then stitch a button on the top of that. Make sure all stitches are finish securely.
How to attach rosettes:
The cheapest way is to sew by using overstitching to the bands or clips, but if you prefer not to sew you could use a glue gun which is suitable for fabric, plastic and metal. If children are making these, it is best that they do not use the strong adhesives.
