Pass The Parcel
A real classic British birthday party game, ideal for primary school children, select gifts and forfeits appropriate for their ages.
You will need: Old newspaper and one sheet of colourful gift wrapping paper.
One party themed gift for the main prize and a few little ones to put between the layers.
Forfeits written on post-it notes or use our free printable forfeits
Music source with an easy on/off button
How to make parcel: Wrap the main gift in colourful wrapping paper and then continue to wrap with multiple layers, it’s also fun to include a forfeit or a small favour gift in between the wrapping sheets. Wrap in about 10 to 15 layers, then for the last layer use the colourful wrapping paper.
How to play: Children should sit in a circle on the floor and pass the parcel round in one direction.
Play the music and stop it at regular intervals, usually 20 seconds or so. When the music stops, the child who is holding the parcel unwraps one layer and either carries out a forfeit or wins a small prize.Pass the parcel around the circle in the opposite direction, when you start playing the music again, variation is fun and will keep the game interesting.
